| Me enjoying an early morning paddle |
Last week my mum was in two minds as to whether to go show jumping or go to a hunter trials on St. Patrick’s day…
I managed to convince her that it would be way more fun to go to the hunter trials and that I needed a spin before the start of the eventing season…but I’m in the bad books now as a result! The ground was quite soft as we’d had a lot of rain and although we were out on the course very early and so got the best of the going, I managed to slip just before the 3rd last fence and kicked myself behind in the process…doh! Anyway, I’m fine, but have had a little filling in a hind leg since so unfortunately I couldn’t go to the Lucinda Green cross country training clinic today and can’t go eventing this weekend either…I’m a bit P-O’d to be honest, but not half as much as mum is! I’ve promised her I’ll be fine by the following weekend…so I’m doing hydrotherapy in the sea every day. Not a bad way to start the day actually!
Apart from that, not much has been happening, or should I say because of that not much has been happening! Really loving the fact that the grass has started to grow a bit, though my field mate Gemma likes to try to hog all the best bits for herself. She’s so hormonal this time of the year!
I think we have a quiet weekend planned this weekend, though I have heard swimming mentioned as an option to keep my fitness up. Anyone know where the best pools are? I’ve only ever paddled in the sea and am really excited at the thought of having a proper plunge…I’ll keep you posted!
